An article in BPD reports that people with borderline personality disorder are likely to be diagnosed with co-occurring ADHD or bipolar disorder. A recent study found that much of the overlap can be accounted for by a mild form of bipolar disorder called cyclothymia. Findings suggest that an underlying and unifying factor in borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, and ADHD may be minor but dysfunctional mood swings.
