Family Focused Therapy is a form of family psychotherapy specifically designed to treat Bipolar Disorders, Schizophrenia, and Psychotic Disorders. Family Focused Therapy involves a psychoeducational component in which families are taught about the disorder that their loved one has, a communication component in which families are helped to improve communication skills and reduce stressful interactions, and a problem-solving skills component in order to more effectively develop problem-solving skills to cope with stressful situations.
