An article in Schiophrenia Bulletin discussed a rarely addressed issue in the treatment of schizophrenia – sexual dysfunction.  While most patients have sexual interests that are similar to the general population, psychiatric symptoms, impaired social skills, controlled living settings, and medication side effects may negatively impact the development and maintenance of stable sexual relationships.  The article addresses patient self-report of sexual dysfunctions and treatment strategies.  To read the article in its entirety, click here.
